Campus Location of Behavioral Health Science Building

The Behavioral Health Science Building (BHSB) is located on South Orange Avenue between Bergen Street to the west and Jones Street to the east. BHSB is #3 on the UMDNJ-Newark campus map. Visitors can park in the parking garage (#16 on the campus map). From the garage, the visitor can reach BHSB by cutting through University Hospital (#5 or #6), and through MSB, the Medical Science Building (#10), then exiting MSB via the south entrance, and going directly to BHSB. Alternatively, the visitor can walk along 12th Avenue to the Court Yard area, cut through MSB (#10) via the north entrance, exit MSB via the south entrance, and then go directly to BHSB. Once inside BHSB, further directions are available at the guard desk in the lobby.

FROM NEW JERSEY

Via I-280. From intersection of I-280 with Garden State Parkway, head east toward Newark.

1. Stay on left, exit at 1st Street, Newark
2. From exit ramp, turn right onto 1st Street
3. Drive 4 or 5 blocks to West Market Street (very large intersection)
4. Go straight ahead across West Market. (Street name changes to Bergen Street, street widens; one-story blue UMDNJ buildings on left)
5. Go to next traffic light (12th Avenue)
6. Go straight ahead across 12th Avenue
7. Make first left into complex
8. In complex, veer left (University Hospital on right, Dental School ahead)
9. At traffic circle, enter Parking Garage
10. Park car, take elevator to level 2 (street level)
11. Exit parking garage, and go to BHSB via routes mentioned above

8. Go to next traffic light (South Orange Avenue)
9. Turn left onto South Orange Avenue, go to second traffic light (Bergen Street)

1. Leave New Jersey Turnpike (I-95) at Exit 15W
2. Follow exit to I-280 (westbound)
3. Exit at Orange St., 6th Street (3 or 4 exits after drawbridge)
4. At bottom of ramp keep right for Orange Street exit
5. Turn right onto Orange Street; Go 1 block to traffic light
6. At light, turn right onto 1st Street

4. After crossing Jones Street, get off bus at second driveway entrance to campus
