Child Track

The four positions in the Child Track focus on work with children, adolescents, and families. All child track interns are expected to have some experience with the early childhood population in the course of the program. Core requirements are met in Children’s Services of University Behavioral HealthCare in Newark. Elective rotations may be taken in adult programs or child programs at UBHC, or at University Hospital. Within the Child Track, there is a heavy emphasis on working with multiple systems that affect the lives of children in our community. Interns learn to work with the school system, the legal system, the child protective system, and the public child behavioral health system.

Child Track interns share some didactic experiences with Adult Track interns, as well as with Child Psychiatry residents.
