A Character Education Program of Merit - cont.
Dr. Goleman also cites our Social Decision Making Program as one of
the six research-validated pioneer programs that successfully build
children's emotional intelligence.
The Social Decision Making and Problem Solving
Program (SDM/PS), housed at the University of Medicine and Dentistry
of New Jersey-University Behavioral Health Care, is a nationally recognized
program aimed at the promotion of emotional intelligence which enables
children to pursue healthy life choices. The program, in partnership
with Rutgers University and our nation's schools, has been teacher tested
and research validated since 1979. SDM/PS aligns with state and national
educational standards and the practice of these skills is easily infused
into existing academic curricula. The program works well with general
and special education children at the elementary and middle school levels.
